Get Involved! KUCSC’s Second Round of Elections is Here!
We are hiring a President, VPSE, and Faculty and Campus Representatives.
It’s time to get involved! If you would enjoy sitting on council and voting on important initiatives, bringing forward concerns from the student body, and gaining leadership skills, council is for you!
For the Presidential, VPSE, and Representative positions, nominations open on February 11th, and close on March 3rd. During this period, please either print our nomination forms or pick them up from the student council office upstairs of the SLC. You’ll find the forms you need here.
Before conducting your campaign, please prepare by reviewing our Terms of Reference and Election Policy to ensure you are adhering to rules and regulations set by KUCSC.
The All-Candidates Meeting will take place on March 6th at 3pm. Attendance is mandatory. This meeting outlines campaign rules and election procedures. Once you submit your nomination forms, you’ll be contacted regarding the All-Candidates Meeting.
The campaigning period begins on March 9th and ends on March 19th. During this period, develop a clear and impactful platform. Conduct consultations with students to identify key issues and priorities. Assemble a team and create campaign materials. When creating campaign materials, please ensure all are pre-approved by the Governance Associate.
Voting for President, VPSE, and Representatives will open on March 18th at 8am and close on March 19th at 8pm. An email will be sent to your UWO email that will provide the link for voting. The elected candidate is determined by the majority vote.
So, what will you do in each of these positions?
President
As President, your role is student-facing. You are the voice of KUCSC. You’ll have meetings with King’s administration and sit on committees to represent KUCSC. Your responsibility is to advocate for students. You’ll also oversee the other executive portfolios on council and support their success.
Your portfolio would include an Executive Assistant, an Academic Council Student Liaison, USC Representatives, a Governance Associate and more!
Vice President of Student Events
Council’s VPSE creates events on and off campus that engage King’s students in campus community and enhance the student experience. The VPSE works alongside the King’s Head Soph to ensure the success of the King’s Orientation Program and coordinates the activities of council’s Commissioners. Additionally, the VPSE oversees KUCSC’s clubs alongside the Clubs Coordinator. As VPSE, you’d plan Welcome Back Week, Grad Ball, and Frost Week.
Your portfolio would include several Relay for Life Commissioners, a Grad Ball Commissioner, and more!
Representatives
KUCSC Representatives make the voice of students heard. They are the bridge between students and council. They bring forward concerns and feedback that the student body has to offer to shape the student experience at King’s. From planning events to advocating for students at council meetings, Reps are vital in empowering and connecting the King’s community.
