Now Hiring: Become a KUCSC Rep!

An excellent way to build connections, network, & make a difference on campus.

Hi King’s students! Today’s blog post is all about why YOU should become a KUCSC Rep! As a Rep, you’ll be a student leader who uses their voice to advocate for King’s students. You’ll enjoy this position if are interested in governance, are passionate about life at King’s, and wants to contribute to meaningful change on campus.

Stick around to learn all of the details of the hiring process, what you’ll do as a Rep, and why Rep positions are important for the student body at King’s!

So, What Is A Rep?

As a Rep, you’ll attend student council meetings and advocate for your fellow students! You’ll bring forth student concerns, vote on important decisions, and advocate for student needs to faculty and administration.

In this student leadership position, you’ll meet fellow members of KUCSC, make new friends, and build important skills that you can use in the real world! Being a Rep is an excellent resume booster and a create way to network on campus with King’s faculty. The best part about being a Rep is that you also get to make a real impact on campus that not only benefits yourself, but your friends and other students enrolled at King’s!

The Rep Hiring & Nomination Process

The Rep nomination period will commence on September 4th and close on September 17th. To be nominated, you’ll need to fill out the Representative Nomination form and collect signatures from your peers. Follow this link to find the form you’ll need!

If you are running to be a Department Rep, meaning you’d be representing the History Department or CYS Department, you’ll have to be nominated by individuals in that department. For example, as the CYS Department Rep you must be nominated by other CYS students.

After you gain your signatures, there will be an All Candidates Meeting on September 19th. More details will come regarding the time, but block it in your calendar for the afternoon!

The Campaign Period begins on September 22nd and runs until September 26th. This is your opportunity to express to your fellow students why you would make a great Rep!

The Voting Period will start on September 25th and end on September 26th. You'll receive confirmation of whether you have won or not by September 29th.

If you have been selected for a Rep position, you’ll then begin attending KUCSC General Meetings! These are a ton of fun, speaking from experience, and it is very rewarding to attend them.
