Back to School: What’s in my Bag? – King’s Edition

Heading back to school? Whether you’re a first-year or a seasoned senior, having a well-packed bag can totally make or break your day on campus. So, what’s actually in a student’s bag these days? We thought we’d share what we keep on hand to survive and thrive during busy campus days: simple, functional, and with a touch of personality.

Here’s a look inside!

Laptop

The obvious MVP. Your laptop is your academic lifeline, from taking notes in class to doing homework at Cafe 54. You get extra points if you put stickers on it to make it your own! It’s like having an office on the go.

Notebook

Even with tech at our fingertips, something is grounding about putting pen to paper. Whether you’re a visual learner, a list-maker, or someone who likes to sketch while thinking, a trusty notebook is always good to have.

Essentials Pouch

A little pouch goes a long way. Ours has everything you need for the day, such as pens, sticky notes, medicines, hand cream, lip balm, and even a little mirror. It’s like a survival kit, but cuter.

Bag Charm

Okay, maybe not “necessary,” but hear us out. A soft, unique bag charm, like this Miffy plushie, can make your bag seem more interesting and give you comfort when you’re having a rough day. So, why not?

Headphones

We live in a noisy world. A pair of high-quality headphones may transform a noisy hallway into a peaceful walk, and they can also assist you in staying focused throughout long periods of study. And with a noise-cancelling one? Even better.

King’s Baseball Cap

Imagine, on a random Monday, you slept in. Your hair didn’t cooperate. The sun is blinding. All you need is a cap that can help you “get ready” faster! That’s when you can consider the King’s cap as an option. In addition to being fashionable and practical, it is an excellent method to demonstrate school spirit without ever uttering a single word.

Glasses

For those of us who need them, glasses are non-negotiable. Especially after hours of screen time in the library or lecture hall. Plus, they add a touch of “I know what I’m doing” energy.

Portable Charger

Campus life = long days away from your charger. A portable power bank means no more panicking when your phone hits 3% and you still need Google Maps, your bus pass, or let’s be honest, Spotify.

Student Card

Your student ID is your golden ticket: access to buildings, the bus, the library, and discounts around town. If you’ve ever forgotten it at home, you know the pain.

Plantable Card

This one’s a little unexpected: a cute, eco-friendly card that you can plant and grow into wildflowers. It’s a thoughtful gift, a pick-me-up, or even a reminder that growth is part of the process (cheesy, but true).

King’s Logo Pin

Simple and subtle. Pop it on your bag or jacket to show your King’s pride. It’s a small detail, but it says a lot.

Reusable Water Bottle – King’s Edition

Stay hydrated, folks. A reusable bottle saves money, reduces plastic waste, and helps keep your brain running at full capacity. The fact that it looks good is just a bonus.

Packing your bag isn’t just about being prepared; it’s about setting yourself up for success your way. Whether that means carrying your favourite pen, your emotional support plushie, or your 16-step skincare routine (no judgment), your bag is an extension of you.

So, what’s in your bag this semester? We’d love to know what your must-haves are, and maybe steal a few ideas.
