KUCSC’s Ultimate Summer Soundtrack

Hello King’s students! We hope that you all are enjoying soaking up that sunshine! Welcome to another edition of the KUCSC Blog, What’s Happening. In this segment, I reached out to several members of student council to find out what their songs of the summer were! So here it is, the official KUCSC Songs of the Summer Playlist!
We’ve got a total mix of vibes here. For our the pop music fans, Out of My League is the perfect summer song to play with friends in the car with the windows rolled down and wind blowing through your hair. This was Andrea’s choice, one of our Media Commissioners! Really gives you that main character moment! We’ve also got Shake it Off, Taylor Swift’s version (obviously!) picked by Lydia, another Media Commissioner, for all of the Swifties out there. Speaking of, who is excited for her brand new album drop?
For more pop favourites, check out Alyssa’s (your VPSE) song of the summer! She’s been loving Pocketful of Sunshine. And for those still in their brat summer era, we’ve got you covered. Ridley, the Chief Financial Officer, has been rocking out to Girl So Confusing (who hasn’t been?).
Need a groovy 2010s song? MK, the Associate CCO, has been listening to She Was Mine by Jesse Barrera and AJ Rafael! Linh, our Graphic Design Commissioner, has selected Steal This Night by Rocco, from 2022 which gives off that total dreampop vibe. For another dreamy song, listen to Under Wraps by Her’s, Himm, our Social Media Coordinator’s pick! If you need a little R&B action from a Montreal musician, check out Daniel’s—our Media Commissioner’s—suggestion, 10% by KAYTRANADA and Kali Uchis.
Then moving into the classics, we have For What It’s Worth by Buffalo Springfield chosen by Matt, another fellow Media Commissioner. Another classic on this playlist has been chosen by myself, and it is Down By The Seaside by Led Zeppelin! We’ve also got two excellent picks from Chief Communications Officer, Morgan! They are Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Tears for Fears and Wildflowers by Tom Petty.
