Take Off on an Advocacy Adventure: Learn About Upcoming Advocacy Events

Hi King’s students! We have exciting news about upcoming advocacy events! On these days, learn about personal resources that you can access at King’s, celebrate Men’s Mental Health and Pride, and participate in wellness related activities such as vinyl painting!

Each of these events will take place in the SLC from 11am-4pm!

November 17th: Academic Day

On Academic Day, partake in King’s themed trivia! As well, booths from the academic dean, academic counselling, experiential learning, and the Write Place will have information booths. This is an excellent way to learn about all of the great resources we have on our campus and how they can assist in your learning.

November 18th: Men’s Mental Health Day

On Men’s Mental Health Day, learn all about men’s mental health with a pin the mustache activity. The mustache is a symbol apart of the “Movember” campaign where men grow mustaches as a statement to raise awareness on men’s health and suicide prevention. Also on this day, students will have the opportunity to donate to the Men’s Mission in London.

November 24th: Personal Resource Day

Learn how to support yourself better and take care of yourself using 10 minute brain break worksheets at this event. As well, speak to special guests that are always present to support students such as Dean Joe, Campus Ministry, and Accessibility Supports.

Also, discover KUCSC resources like The Food Locker and Christina’s Closet. These are resources through council where you can access free food and clothing. Come speak to us at Personal Resource Day for more information, or see our website! We’re always here to help!

November 25th: 2SLGBTQIA+ Day

Celebrate Pride with the Pride panel and a match the flags activity! Visit information booths from Pride resources local to London to hear about supports for 2SLGBTQIA+ students.

November 27th: Wellness Day

On Wellness Day, come take a break from your studying and paint self care jars, vinyl records, and colour on worksheets and journals! We know the exam season can be busy, so come have a brain break and partake in stress relieving activities!

Thanks for reading, King’s students! We hope to see you all at these Advocacy Days to learn about all of the resources that our campus has to offer.
