
Diversity and Inclusion Commissioner
Diversity and Inclusion Commissioners organize at least two awareness weeks each academic year focusing on important topics such as diversity of ability, sexual orientation, and cultural and religious diversity at King’s. They collaborate closely with the VPSA to plan and execute impactful campaigns that promote inclusivity on campus.

Pride Commissioner
The Pride Commissioner ensures King’s is a welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ students by collaborating with the KUCSC and the college. They report to the council monthly on relevant issues, create a comprehensive support and resource guide, and work with the communications portfolio to promote LGBTQIA+ awareness days and weeks.

Environmental Commissioner
The Environmental Commissioner is responsible for organizing activities and fundraising events related to environmental affairs. They coordinate with various campus and external groups, including the Director of Physical Plant, the Environmental Intern, and EnviroWestern, to address sustainability at King’s. They support the Environmental and Sustainability Intern, organize Environmental Awareness Week, and oversee the King’s Community Garden with the help of designated coordinators.

Red Zone Commissioner
The Red Zone Research Commissioner is responsible for hosting educational seminars or events on sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) during the critical first 2-8 weeks of each semester. They conduct research on SGBV causes, prevention strategies, and institutional responses, leading public education initiatives. In consultation with the Dean of Students, they contribute to developing the SGBV framework and may conduct research with ethical approval. Their findings are compiled into a Red Zone Report for review by the KUCSC and the Dean of Students.

Student Outreach Commissioner
The Student Outreach Commissioner is responsible for organizing at least two Awareness Weeks per academic year. They also coordinate spotlight events and campaigns in collaboration with other portfolios.

Athletic Commissioner
The Athletics Commissioner is responsible for planning and coordinating a minimum of three sports events per year, managing the distribution and retention of athletic equipment through regular inventory checks, overseeing the collection of fees for team materials in collaboration with the CFO, and assisting the Athletic Facilities Coordinator with the King’s Cobras.

Athletic Facilities Coordinator
The Athletic Facilities Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the KUCSC rink, soccer pitch, and beach volleyball court, overseeing the KUCSC Athletics Staff, coordinating the King’s Cobras, and managing the upkeep of the Games Room and Fitness Centre in the Student Life Centre, including conducting weekly checks and reporting necessary repairs or supplies to the CFO.

Mascot
The Mascot attends events in full costume to engage the student body. They monitor their KUCSC email weekly, confirm or deny mascot appearance requests, and collaborate with the KUCSC Communications Portfolio to create promotional materials. The Mascot is responsible for attending confirmed events in costume, on time, and caring for the mascot gear.

Relay for Life Commissioner
The Relay for Life Commissioner chairs the Relay for Life Committee, selecting members and leading meetings. They organize the King’s/Huron (HK) Relay for Life event, manage finances and donations with the CFO, and coordinate additional fundraising efforts for the Canadian Cancer Society. They maintain contact with the Canadian Cancer Society, attend their Relay for Life retreat, and collaborate with Huron commissioners on event planning.

Special Events Commissioner
The Special Events Commissioner is responsible for organizing one event per semester for the King's community, either on or off campus, and ideally accessible for all ages. They work closely with the Vice President of Student Events, CFO, KUCSC, administration, and potentially HUCSC in planning and executing the events. The commissioner is also responsible for initiating and monitoring ticket sales.

Grad Ball Commissioner
The Grad Ball Commissioner is responsible for organizing and executing the annual KUCSC Grad Ball in collaboration with the Vice President of Student Events, CFO, CCO, and Events Staff Coordinator. They handle ticket sales and attend KUCSC General Meetings before and after Grad Ball. The commissioner is also a member of the Events Committee.

Off-Campus Commissioner
The Off-Campus Commissioner leads the Off-Campus Don Team and chairs the Off-Campus Society. They act as a liaison between these groups and the KUCSC, addressing the needs of off-campus students. Responsibilities include selecting an OC Don Team, organizing training sessions, and hosting events like the Off-Campus Barbecue and two others per semester (one academically based). The commissioner is also a voting member of the Frost Week Committee.

Charity Commissioner
The Charity Commissioner is responsible for organizing multiple KUCSC charity events in collaboration with a local charity, in consultation with the Vice President of Student Events and the Chief Financial Officer. This includes planning and executing charity fundraising and outreach events. The Charity Commissioner will chair the Charity sub-committee, select members for the sub-committee, and organize regular meetings. Additionally, they will be a member of the Events Committee.

Event Staff Coordinator
The Event Staff Coordinator acts as a liaison between their staff, the Vice President of Student Events, and KUCSC. They are responsible to the Vice President of Student Events and are a member of the Events Committee.

Deputy Speaker
The Deputy Speaker supports the Speaker and President, acting as the Speaker in their absence. They are responsible for tracking attendance, issuing demerit points according to the attendance policy, and approving or rejecting regrets. The Deputy Speaker must be familiar with Robert’s Rules of Order and consult with the Speaker and President when necessary.

Graphic Design Commissioner
Graphic Design Commissioners create promotional graphics for KUCSC events and initiatives, ensuring materials are visually engaging for digital and print use. They manage design requests, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing needs. It is recommended that those applying for this position have a working knowledge of Canva.

Media Commissioner
Media Commissioners capture and promote KUCSC events through photography, videography, and social media. They assist in keeping KUCSC’s online presence engaging and on-brand, create promotional materials like Instagram Reels, and archive media for future use. This role is ideal for creative individuals interested in visual storytelling and digital media.
