Academic Council Student Liaison (ACSL)

The Academic Council Student Liaison (ACSL) attends both KUCSC Council and Academic Council meetings, providing monthly reports on Academic Council matters. They are responsible for the attendance and behavior of AC Student Committee Members, coordinating with them to compile reports for the KUCSC President and VP of Student Affairs. The ACSL represents the student body at the Academic Council, maintains a professional appearance, and is a member of the KUCSC Student Affairs Committee.

Governance Associate

The Governance Associate, under the KUCSC President's direction, provides governance and elections support. They chair the elections committee, run elections according to KUCSC policies, and act as the Chief Returning Officer for election-related issues. The Governance Associate is an expert on Robert’s Rules and KUCSC by-laws, making recommendations for updates to policies. They also lead training sessions for new Council members on Robert’s Rules and oversee the Deputy Speaker alongside the Speaker. The Governance Associate may join up to three Standing Committees as a non-voting member.

Deputy Speaker

The Deputy Speaker supports the Speaker and President, acting as the Speaker in their absence. They are responsible for tracking attendance, issuing demerit points according to the attendance policy, and approving or rejecting regrets. The Deputy Speaker must be familiar with Robert’s Rules of Order and consult with the Speaker and President when necessary.

Speaker

The Speaker, under the direction of the KUCSC President, provides procedural support at Non-ONCA Meetings (Council meetings excluding Annual or Special Meetings of Members). They call meetings to order, manage discussions, and ensure agendas are followed. The Speaker also handles procedural matters according to Robert’s Rules of Order, and works with the Recording Secretary to prepare meeting materials. The role involves overseeing Standing Committee elections and the Deputy Speaker, while remaining neutral during meetings. The Speaker does not have voting rights or the ability to move or second motions.
